Dust
collection in abrasive media blasting is an application that requires experience
to aid in selection of the proper filter media and system configuration. As with
all applications, starting with the media originally specified by the system designer
is the best way to ensure performance equal to the OEM setup. If you have changed
your system,
we can help in engineering the best solution for the modified application.TDC
has a comprehensive cross-reference database to assist in selecting the best match
for an OEM filter, if known. Contact your
TDC Sales Associate for access to the
database and help in cross-referencing your filter.
Use this Selection Guide when the OEM filter specification is not known or you wish
to select a different media in order to solve a problem, improve performance or,
perhaps, to adapt an existing system to handle conditions significantly different
than its original design.
The primary considerations for selecting media for blasting applications are media
efficiency, strength, dust release properties and whether sparks or fires are a
factor in the inlet airstream. Media recommended in the “Good” column will provide
adequate performance and represents the lowest-cost option. “Better” media will
provide improved overall performance at a slight increase in cost. The “Best” option
provides the highest level of performance, longevity and minimal particle discharge
for this application. |
